It occured to me the the other day that apple may be running out of ideas. I only say this as an admirer of apple and its products. From a design perspective, simply stunning springs to mind, and ever since I switched to to an macbook, I can never use a PC as it feels remarkably inferior. However I think Apple may be either running out of ideas, or having something totally unexpected to hit the shelves in the not too distant future.
Issues
iPhone
The 3Gs missed a few tricks in honesty. From a software perspective they finally caught up with Blackberry with copy and paste, and from a camera perspective it’s better but when you look at the other touch screen phones 3.2 mega pixel is not that impressive. I think the next step would be to have a camera on the front and on the back, and a much better camera to boot. Wireless charging; it’s out there so why can’t Apple be the first mass market product to do it? And better battery life, 24 hours is simply not good enough.
Macbook
The new range is better undoubtedly. However it’s nothing amazingly new, nothing majorly innovative or something to shout home about.
It’s not all bad news, it has been rumored for some time that Apple are going to release the Apple Tablet. Effectively a large ipod touch, aimed at the mobile business user opening up a new market all together. Expected to be on the market before the christmas sales.

Mashable has recently posted an article on the tablet and also given some artists impressions of further apple product evolution.
One thing is for sure, ever since the first mac was released, it pushed the boundries of what a personal computer can do and can’t. The iPhone changed mobile technology, who would have thought you can have an online dictionary, game station and spirit level all in one device? Apple had better get moving though, technology is easier to copy today than ever before.
